Bar Pastis

Bar Pastis is a unique bar in Barcelona. Once you enter this little, cozy bar and close the door behind you, it seems as if the time has stood still. Here you really feel the authentic atmosphere of a French café from the early 20th century. Antique posters on the wall, excentric artifacts on the tables and the bar, and hanging from the ceiling there's a sea of nicely folded paper birds. The name of the café already indicates that its specialty is the French liquor Pastis, but of course you can chose from a wide range of many other liquors and drinks here. Despite the bar being so small, it frequently organizes live performances.

L'Ovella Negra

L'Ovella Negra is especially known among international students. It's an old tavern with long wooden tables and a frolic atmosphere. It's the ideal place to come together with a large group. Beer and Sangría are being served in extra large glasses, and to still your hunger you can order a plate of typical catalan cold cut with 'pan con tomate' (bread with tomato). l'Ovella Negra has a separate space for smokers, and there's a table football and a photo play machine.

Ryans Irish Pub

There are two Ryans Irish Pubs in Barcelona, both in Barrio Gótico. In the bigger one there's also food being served and there's a pool table. In both bars you watch important matches and there's a daily happy hour with cheap cocktails and beer.

Live music and performances


El Jamboree

A historical bar in Barcelona, where famous artists have performed and where jazz is what it's mainly about. Its situation at the beautiful Plaça Reial is ideal, especially because there are many other bars and restaurants around. A visit to Jamboree is good choice to make a night out in town complete.

Plaça Reial 17, in el Barrio Gótico, the nearest metro stop is Liceu (green line) and a bit further but definitely still at walking distance Jaume I (yellow line).


Sala Monasterio

This bar is located in an arched basement, there's a large stage where live performances take place almost on a daily basis. The bar is especially known for its jam sessions that are being held there frequently for new talent to be discovered.

Carpe Diem Lounge Club

El Bosc de les Fades

Night clubs


Sala Razzmataz

An old factory turned into one of the most famous clubs in Spain, with several rooms where you can dance on either Rock, House and Pop music. There are regular concerts from famous bands taking place here too.s.

C/ Pamplona 88, in Poble Nou, the nearest metro stops are Marina (red line) and Bogatell (yellow line).


Sala Apolo en Apolo 2

These two clubs are opened the whole week and the music offer varies from salsa, pop and rock to experimental and house. In the weekends there's mainly Dance and House music in Apolo, and in Apolo 2 there's more rock and pop music. There are often live performances as well in both clubs.

Otto Zutz

This club has three floors with different music styles. Downstairs there's mainly R&B, on the first floor you first walk into an area with disco music from the sixties and then there's a room with Club and House music. On the top floor there's a VIP area.
